Most toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, floss and floss containers are made from non-recyclable materials that are often incinerated (giving off harmful gasses), sent to landfill or end up in rivers, dams, or oceans. These plastics cause havoc to our wildlife, through ingestion and entanglement, and affects the biodiversity of our oceans.
Microplastics have already been found in water, air, fish and food. Scientists have discovered plastic particles in human blood, lungs and placenta.
