Our Story
May you always find something to smile about.

As a dental hygienist and nature lover, I’ve long been concerned about the environmental impact of conventional oral care products—and their contribution to the growing plastic pollution crisis.
Consider this: plastic toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, and floss containers can take over 400 years to decompose. That means the very first plastic toothbrush ever made—along with every one that followed—is still out there, polluting our planet.
In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was retrenched. After 14 years of working in dental practices across Cape Town, South Africa, I took it as a sign to pursue something deeply meaningful: creating a sustainable alternative to plastic oral care. And so, The Kindbrush® was born in November 2020.
I’m currently bootstrapping The Kindbrush® while continuing my clinical work at Matrix Dental Specialists in Cape Town. Every day, I’m learning what it means to be an entrepreneur, driven by a passion for both oral health and the environment.
Oral care matters. Most people are born with healthy teeth—the real challenge is maintaining that health through consistent, preventative care. That’s why I’m so committed to promoting better oral hygiene habits, with sustainability at the core.
I trust that the design, look and feel of this beautiful, natural and sustainable range will inspire and motivate you to look forward to your daily oral care routine.
And while you’re at it, why not simply use a product that’s also much kinder to our planet? If you cannot change everything, change one thing.
